Trouble with Comments

EDIT:  All fixed now with wonderful tech support provided by JF.

Thanks Bud!

But we'll leave the post up just to prove that I am a computer dummy.

And Then There Was Trouble...

Hi all!

For some reason unknown to me, lately I am having trouble leaving comments on people's blogs.  I blame Mike, because it start happening after I read his blog post on having trouble with blogger, so obviously he infected me.

When I view a blog on my iPhone, where the comment section usually is I see this:

Phone screen shot

Now I am already am signed into google, but whatever.
When I punch the button, the page reloads but nothing changes.

Lame.

I dunno what changed.  But it's frustrating.
My laptop still works fine, but I do 95% of my blog reading and comment writing on my phone, because I don't have a life where I can sit down in front of the laptop.

If anyone has an idea how to fix this, I'm all ears.

Till I can get it resolved, I might not be leaving comments regularly on your fabulous blogs for awhile (and they'll probably be the better for it).

    1. Commenting works from my iPhone. Which browser are you using and is “cross-site tracking” turned on? Infected by reading Mike’s post about commenting? Good one!

    2. I use Chrome on my iPhone. Cross suite tracking/cookies are turned on by default. Don’t think you can even turn it off.

    3. It can be toggled off and on. On iPhone, go to SETTINGS-> CHROME -> ALLOW CROSS-WEBSITE TRACKING.

    4. Hurray!! That was it! I appreciate you taking the time to help. I was constantly fiddling with the chrome settings but not on the actual phone.
No idea how that got turned off in the first place but that was the solution! Thanks!

  2. Someone else reported exactly the same issue Stew, and Jon supplied the possible solution, as above. I can't help...I use an ancient iPad (that I am on now with no issues) or a laptop, never my phone...which is a Samsung in any case.....hopefully Jons suggestion will solve things for you!

    1. Thanks Kieth. I dunno what to do. Sometimes I hate the tech bc things change overnight for no reason.

  3. Android's seem to work fine, perhaps it's something to do with apple?

  4. Sorry only using iPad but have noticed an upgrade recently to posting comments so you may have some compatibility issues with the upgrade ?

  5. I had the same problem for ages Stew and had to ensure I was logged into my Google account across all devices in the background. I’ve been fine ever since though still dubious about my solution.

  6. I only use an Android tablet and a PC for reading and commenting--now exclusively on the Chrome Browser, so can't say much about your smartphone issues. Like Matt, I have noticed a formst change for leaving comments, so I suspect that there must be some sort of bug associated with this latest "upgrade" (as usual, fixing something that wasn't broken).

  7. Blogger seems to have changed the format on their comments again, have you tried logging in again, with the new button ?

    1. I didn’t follow this one. But don’t explain it bc if it’s funny an explanation will just ruin it for the others. 😀
      Problem fixed anyhow!

  10. I noticed the upgrade and Jonathan's comment failed to appear, I do 99% of my blogging on my phone but it is an android and I haven't had an issue yet!

  11. As someone has suggested, allow cross site tracking and that should solve it. Worked for me when I had a similar issue.

    1. Thanks for the sympathy. That indeed was the issue but have no idea how that got turned off in the first place. 😀

It’s just that RIGHT after I read your post about posting problems I started having problems of my own.
But fixed now with JFs help. I hope yours are fixed too. 😀

    2. Actually it seems fine at my end too for the past few days. I went through the same routine Jonathan suggested but I got it from another source. So I’m not contagious any more now, you see?
